NCEC Updates:

The NCEC 2026 Annual Meeting will be held on 4-6 November at Istinye University in Istanbul, Turkey, just before COP31. REGISTER HERE

The New Carbon Economy Consortium (NCEC), a collaboration of leading universities, national labs, financiers, NGOs, and industry partners advancing a carbon‑conscious future, will convene its 2026 Annual Meeting to accelerate pathways for large‑scale carbon removal deployment and a just transition toward a negative‑emissions economy.

External Network Updates: 

• On June 1^st, Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) convened leaders from academia, industry, philanthropy, and NGOs to explore a shared vision for a new carbon economy in the United States. Participants discussed how carbon dioxide can be transformed from a waste product into a valuable input for fuels, chemicals, and materials while supporting long-term climate goals, as well as the governance, infrastructure, and public engagement needed to enable responsible carbon management. The workshop underscored the importance of continued collaboration and a coordinated civil society voice to build alignment, strengthen public messaging, and help ensure carbon management delivers meaningful climate and societal benefits.
